We’ve all seen trucks on the road with what appears to be a happy dog riding in the bed of a truck. Those dogs always look like they’re having fun, with their noses pointed into the wind, their fur flying out behind them, and what looks like a huge smile.
But unfortunately, some of those same dogs often end up terribly injured or dead from jumping or falling out of the bed of the truck. If they are lucky enough to survive, many end up with broken legs, joint injuries, and often result in amputation.
AHA - “100,000 dogs die each year riding in the back of pickup trucks by flying out after an accident, falling out accidentally, jumping out, or sliding out the back of an open tailgate.”
"Dogs have gotten lost or killed when they exited the pickup, and the owners didn't realize they were missing until they got home."
DVM360 - "The greatest boom to veterinary orthopedics hasn't been antibiotics, anesthesia, or even surgical equipment, it's the pickup truck"
SPCA - Common injuries that can occur when dogs jump or fall from the back of pickup trucks and survive:
AVMA - 71% of the veterinarians reported treating dogs for injuries sustained by falling or jumping from a cargo area of pickup trucks. This parentage does not take into account countless dogs that were killed and not treated.
The K9truckNET is made from high quality, high strength, waterproof, fade resistant material, sewn with Box-X stitch. It's attached by adjustable straps, so it fits most truck racks, short or long beds.
